About Dr. Pearce
Dr. Elizabeth C. Pearce grew up in our great state of Maine, attended Yarmouth High School, and graduated from Williams College in 2003. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2009. She then moved to Nashville, TN where she completed her residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2015. After returning home to Maine, Dr. Pearce worked at Maine Medical Partners Otolaryngology for seven years, serving the communities of Portland, Bridgton, and Biddeford.
She opened PearceMD in the summer of 2022, to offer Mainers a simplified, refreshing model of care focused on timely access and communication, unrushed visits, price transparency, and clear solutions for ear and airway health.
Since childhood, Dr. Pearce has been fascinated with the senses and the undeniable connection between smell and memory, music and emotion, voice and identity, the list is endless. She loves helping patients restore and optimize their senses so they may communicate with and experience the world.
Dr. Pearce is committed to whole-person health; she believes the human body never studied the medical textbooks which put different organ systems in different chapters: everything is, in fact, connected. She is passionate about staying current with the latest, least invasive in-office procedures, providing evidence-based treatment options, empowering patients through education, and a reliable doctor-patient relationship.
When not in the clinic, she can be found enjoying the snow and ocean, running, reading, and spending time with her husband and three sons.
About Gillian Croteau, PA-C
Born in the suburbs of Chicago, Gillian moved to Maine with her parents and three brothers when she was 10 years old. She went on to graduate Summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Maine at Orono. In 2014, she graduated with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of New England. After graduating, she worked in both elective and trauma Orthopedics for 3 years before finding Otolaryngology (ENT), her true passion. For nearly seven years she provided ENT care for the Central Maine communities while working at Central Maine Medical Center. During her time there, she practiced as a highly autonomous provider in a busy ENT head and neck clinic, diagnosing and treating a broad range of ear, nose and throat problems in patients from infancy to geriatrics.

Gillian joined PearceMD in September 2023. Dr. Pearce considers herself lucky to have serendipitously found Gillian and they had an immediate connection in energy, patient care, ENT passion, and the joys of motherhood. Having worked in both a hospital-based clinic and now in private practice, Gillian takes great pride in her approach to patient care at PearceMD—timely, thoughtful, thorough and comprehensive. This refreshing patient care model allows Gillian the time to address the whole person—mind, body, spirit—to get to the root of the problem.

As a child, Gillian suffered with ear, nose and throat problems. Hence, she has an intimate understanding of how frustrating it can be when something so vital to our human experience is impacted. She takes great joy in seeing her patients gain the relief they so desperately seek and need to live the vibrant, quality life they deserve.

When she’s not at work, Gillian enjoys learning about functional medicine and nutrition to improve health with diet and lifestyle. You’ll often find Gillian outdoors with her husband and daughter, enjoying a good fantasy book, listening to podcasts or playing co-ed soccer.
